Wow, am I over my head. I thought this would be a LOT easier than what it's turning out to be...YIKES!!! :(

First things first:
I am using a Hitachi 51F59
http://www.hitachi.us/tv/browse/projection/16-9digital/51F59.shtml
with my BFG GeForce 6800GT 256MB AGP and the official Nvidia 93.71 drivers...

I can get it to display on the Hitachi, but the screen image is so freaking large I can't do anything else with it. Is there a step-by-step guide for "hooking up your HDTV to an Nvidia Graphics" card available? Or, are there any gurus in the Metro-Detroit Michigan for hire? I was looking to go to Geek Squad, but everyone seems to warn me that they won't know what they're doing when it comes to this stuff - but I don't have a clue either...!!!!

Thanks for any "first" steps.

Steve

OK...making substantial progress now, holy moly it is incredible!

Sorry to see no support or even a single response here for my questions... :( I have found other discussion forums that are a lot more lively, and helpful - but I am glad this forum exists and hope it can continue to help others though. Bye for now...and happy HDTV PC Gaming! :P

if you wanted to actually use it as a high resolution monitor, you will need to use the hdmi input (as well as a video card that has hdmi). Otherwise since you have no VGA input, you are restricted to low resolution Svideo inputs.

Yea, thanks to both of you for the reply. Actually, I'm all set with the connection using DVI-HDMI Connection. Last night I was able to fully correct my overscan issue that had been a struggle since I received the TV - I have now resolved that using a combination of the latest 93.71 Nvidia driver, Powerstrip and the TV's menu/settings. It is a sight to behold - and well worth all the effort.
