Hi folks.

Been looking at surround gaming for a while now and finally have the spare funds to make it a reality!

I have already bought my TH2G Digi kit and already have a Samsung 226BW monitor.

Now my dilema is desk space and having to rearrange my room to make the final set up fit while still leaving me just enough room to get in and out  . I have measured the desk and it comes to a fraction over 42" which would fit 3x22 but with alot of overhang.

The other option I was looking at was Buying a triple monitor stand (ds100 by ergotron) and using 3x ViewSonic VX1940w at 1680x1050 each and having my 22" for doing other things while gaming.

Any help would be most apperciated. If anyone can suggest anything better ie Monitors to use or stands ect please do so.

This will be running on

E6850 @ 3.65GHz
4gb Corsair Dominator pc2 8500
8800GTX SLI
Vista 64 Bit

Thanks in advance.

I would go with your second option using the 3 Acers and a Ergotron.

Welcome TripleHeader 8)

I too considered buying three 22" panels, but that didn't seem like the smart thing to do. My own desk is sort of inside a closet, so I went for 3x 19" - this exact same model, the Viewsonic VX1940w. Very good response, nice image, high pixel density, there's even a built-in 4:3 mode for when the darn Flat Panel Scaling won't work... and there's enough room left for my 2.0 speakers. I really like these monitors. Only problem is the bezel thickness, since Bezel Management is somewhat broken at the moment. (I don't feel the need for a triple stand though, can't help you on that matter.)

Concerning the use of an additional 22" for "doing other things while gaming", well... don't forget SLI can't do that yet afaik. One output only !

On a sidenote, as long as your monitors have the same native resolution, you could mix the 22" with two side 19"... It sure wouldn't look perfect, but hey, that's one less VX1940w to buy and you'd keep the larger Samsung as main display :)

Hi guys, thanks for the replies.

Just a few more questions to help me decide what would be best.

1. Can i run the matrox from my secondary gfx card while having the primary run my current monitor as the primary display? (SLI disabled)

2. Is there any kind of impact on visual quality in using say a 19W" at 1680x1050 to a 22W" at same res?

I have been looking at various monitors and still not quite sure which set to buy for a surround set up. Here is what i have narrowed it down to any advice would be greatly appreciated.
