There is a thread here that tells you how to get that resolution, but requires a bit of work. Bu they, once you do it, you can save that edited file and use it in the future.

Search for the game title in the forums and you'll find it. Basically you have to use a hex editor on a cracked .exe, and replace values for an existing in-game resolution for values that represent 1920 and 1080.

Too bad you need x1080, as I still have my old 1920x1200 fix.

Here's the page on how to do it: http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=14028&hilit=silent+hill+2

And some hex values you'll need: http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=14434

Hi Abram,
what a coincidence
I came here searching for a SH2 Director's edition widescreen fix for 1920x1200
could you post it here somehow?

I took a quick look didn't find it. But i whipped up another. I almost never upload files, so i used the first free one that i found. Link is small, at bottom-right.

http://www.2shared.com/file/2H1V5gFU/sh2pc.html

I rarely hex-edit, but I'm fairly sure i got it right. The altered .exe replaces 640x480 with the 1920x1200, so be sure to set all your options before using this .exe, as going into the graphics option afterwards will fudge the resolution on you.

Please let me know if it works.

EDIT: Well, i figgered I may as well try one for dmxdex as well:

Remember that if I did it incorrectly, all the info is one the pages i posted.

Thanks for replying Abram!
Sorry but both links say that "file link is invalid.."
Don't want to be a pest,
but perhaps you could upload the file to rapidshare.com/?

If you don't have time I understand and will try to create one myself.

I really believe that widescreen fix for SH2 should be posted as an attachment in the sticky thread in this forum, because SH2 is arguably the best installment in the series, and it still has large fan base IMO.

yes, the first one worked very nicely, turning 640x480 into 1920x1200,
moreover, I could tweak the options and the resolution stayed the same.

I think I broke something today when trying to permanently set the affinity for the executable file (SH2 has issues with more than one core), and the file became unusable, crashing every time (restoring original file from backup didn't work).
So I just created the file anew from nocd executable using your istructions and a hex editor.
Worked like a charm.
