5x1 is not currently supported. 6x1 is currently supported. The limit of 8K in any dimension must be adhered to independently of the monitor configuration.

You would think we would support any arbitrary nx1 configuration, yet we don't at this time. That will come later.

With all due respect, why not?

You realize that these features have been on your website for months? You realize that your potential customers have waited, and waited, and waited for this card for the purpose of 5x1 play? That this is the only reason many gamers are even going to look at the eyefinity6 edition when we can get 3x1 2GB/gpu cards with the existing designs?

I understand you can't reveal much that's happening behind the scenes, but from my perspective as a potential customer, your management is shitting all over us by not funding your driver development team to move as fast as your marketing department's mouths. The fact that Nvidia wasn't as competitive as you expected makes this a reasonable business decision from an economic perspective. I understand that. You need to understand that when you show them something cool, enthusiasts invest their time in tracking your product long before release, not just their money at the point-of-sale. Your inability to deliver what you promised, to justify that time investment, is offensive, and makes them less likely to evangelize or even buy your product than they normally would be.

Even the much less ambitious Eyefinity website you put up recently still advertises PLP setups that you've said are a very low priority to enable.

[quote]Does anyone know if Eyefinity 6 will support 5 X 1 or 6 X 1, depending on display resolution. As I understand it, Eyefinity 6 has a 8K X 8K pixel limit when it comes to output resolutions. BTW. This is similar to Dual Quadraplex...

I can confirm that 5x1 is in the works in portrait mode. I have sources that confirmed that progress is being made on the 5x1-P mode with an internal driver release at ATI. I don't have a copy yet (or six monitors yet), but I can promise that the WSGF is at the top of the list to get this driver when support is ready.

I got Bezel Compensation months before it was announced in the 10.3 preview. 5x1-P may not be ready at Eyefinity6 launch (I don't know one way or the other), but I can assure you that your patience will be rewarded.

It's very strange why 5x1 would potentially not be available at launch. This, to me, meant either (1) the marketing guys at AMD didn't think 5x1 portrait is important (unlikely given that AMD Reps frequently visited this site) or (2) it is somehow more difficult to implement 5x1 portrait and they just have recently solved the snag that they discovered.

Not sure. It is a pretty niche product. I can say that I received two of them in the mail today, and will begin my testing shortly.

I tried to start a thread and see if we can get some pre-order info, but it seems we are all in the dark at this point...

Tough job... :D

After 6.5 years of running the site, it's nice to be on someone's "Good List." :rockout

I'm not complaining at all, but benchmarking really isn't much fun. It's running the same thing over and over to record a number. With doing a lot of it at once, you get to the point you just want it to be over. Over the last couple of weeks I've benchmarked the following:

Eight Video Cards: ATI Radeon HD 5450, 5550, 5670, 5750, 5770, 5830, 5850, 5870
In Four Resolutions: 1680x1050, 1920x1200x 5040x1050, 5760x1200
For Nine Games: Batman: AA, Battle Forge, Dirt 2, Far Cry 2, GTA IV, HAWX, HL2 Ep2, HL2: LC, STALKER Pripyat
With: Three runs at every point

That's 864 total benchmark passes. I still have the Eyefinity6, the E6 in CFX and the 5970. I'm also planning on doing 3x1920x1200 in portrait for a comparison. And a few other things. Again, I'm not complaining, but it would be nice to actually get to "play" on the "good stuff." Hopefully soon. After I write all the reviews and articles to go with the numbers...
