I have a
i7 CPU 860 @280GHZ (8 CPUs)
8GB Ram
Geforce GTX 285 4077MB

I have been looking into Multi monitor setup, however need a lot of info if you dont mind,im kinda frightened to but hardware etc and it doesnt fit/work.

I take it i can connect 2 monitors via this 1 gfx card, so do i need another GTX 285 for the 3rd monitor or does it not work like this?
i was looking into eyefinity but someone told me the gfx card i have would be fine to run Multi monitor Setup with me just adding another gfx card. Is this true?

What else would i need for MMS? What 3 screens are ideal for the best of FPS,Simulation racing etc, iwas wanting to build for now and future games.

if i could setup 3 monitors with my nvidia gfx card do i need any other components to hook them all up?

what is the best Monitor resolution setup on 3 screens? FPS/racing sims

i was looking into buying the same 3 monitors but i heard you might meed certain ports etc?

If i was going ahead with this recently, would i be better just going for eyeinfinity? or could it work fine with my GTX 285

i really appologise for the first post but as i say i dont wanna buy stuff and it doesnt work , really appreciate any help at all guys and thanks :)

1. Buy the new generation GPUs from Nvidia or ATI (Supports multi-monitors of 3 or more out of the box).
2. 3 x Dell u2410 or 3 x Dell u2311

Yes thats true, all you need (if you want to keep your GTX 285) is another GTX 285, and three 22", 24" or even 30" monitors.
Youll connect two monitors via your 1st GTX 285, and the third monitor via the other GTX 285.

Quite, nvidia cards do not support 3 displays off a single card, you need 2 of the same in a SLI configuration, for ATI, the 5xxx series may support 3 monitors off a single card or more for the E6 edition card, however ATI do not provide you with active displayport adaptors, which are required to get the 3rd (and 4th, 5th, 6th for the E6 card) monitor(s) wokring, so working out of the box neither of them are sadly.

The only way the ATI 5xxx series work out of the box, is if you have a monitor that has a display port input.

Oh & :welcome
