I have 3 hanns g 28"
At min i have 2 on dvi dongles [hdmi cable with a dvi on other end]
and other on hdmi dongle with hdmi cable [hdmi both ends]

2 screens will enable in eyefinity but 3rd wont

i just bought 3 hdmi cable with passive convertors [not got converters yet tho] as i presume the eyefinity 6 vers doesnt need active convertor ?
as ill be changing the dvi cables out for those

now my question is as i cant get the 3 rd to enable now would it would with all hdmi ?
if not can i use a dp to hmdi converter and a active dongle if needed ?
wot would make this work ?

One thing I have found to work is when you restart your pc is to rearrange your monitors according to what windows sets them up on bootup. I think some of the issues with eyefinity happen when you rearrange the order to match the setup.

For example I could not get windows to show the portrait option in display options. (I wanted to have two displays in landscape and one in portrait when in extended mode). When I was changing my display order to match what windows would show at startup the portrait mode would not display at all. Then I changed my cables on my monitors so that my displays were in the same order that windows would put them in startup.
Right away the portrait mode showed up in windows and my eyefinity seemed to work better!

This is completely reproducible > If I change the monitors around I lose the portrait setting. When I setup monitors in same order as windows all settings are available. I have done this 4 times to make sure!!

MY monitors are matching and the setup is as follows. On my 5970 the dvi closest to motherboard is my left monitor when sitting. Mini dp is the right monitor and other dvi is the middle monitor.

Works every time.

as i presume the eyefinity 6 vers doesnt need active convertor ?

Could you please explain where you got that assumption from? To the best of my knowledge it's always passive on the first two and active on the rest.

Here is the MDP active adapter needed:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815309008

I just purchased an EyeFinity6 and 6 of these. Sure I only need 4 to max out the EyeFinity6 capabilities but I wanted to ensure 100% consistency between the displays.

I had the same issue, but with this type of an adapter, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815309008
and I could only ever get 2 monitors working at one time :( I am pretty sure its because I am running 3 1920 x 1200 monitors. The above adapter only works on 1080 monitors. Therefore I had to purchased one of these apple adapters on ebay http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB571Z/A
but only because it was a deal and it works just as good as the ones listed below. I use it for eyefinity on 3 x 24" monitors @ 5760 x 1200

this is what ATI recommended for my 5790 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814999025
but these are no longer available.

few other similar adapters that may also work for those higher resolution monitors that are above 1080.

http://us.startech.com/product/MDP2DVID ... ve-Adapter–USB-Powered

http://us.startech.com/product/MDP2HDMI ... -USB-Audio

depending on what vid card you have.

Just to clarify, the first two look to be dual-link dvi active adapters, while the third looks to be HDMI. It's my understanding that unless it's HDMI 1.4a that it's using single-link dvi signal.

Also, the MDP to single-link DVI active adapter initially listed is rated for 1920x1200 in it's specs. No idea why it didn't work for you. Maybe you used hz settings outside the adapter spec. My guess is that PowerStrip could resolve the problem.

new question
would i need another adapter to drive my 52 " tv and 32" as well as my 3 hanns g 28" ?

and any way to keep them as duplicate while in eyefinity mode as one in bedroom and one in sitting room so dont want to use like eyefinity

want the 52" to play games when others come round [relatives] so dont want it to act as extending screen is it poss with out turning of eyefinity

Oh sure that adapter works when I connect it to a single monitor, it still even works when I plug a 2nd regular DVI monitor into vid card(2 monitors working), but when I plug a third regular DVI monitor into the card, the third DVI monitor does nothing(blank screen). Its like the video card dont have enough power for all three monitors together. no matter what port. So Maybe your right that its to do with the Hz, because they are all 2ms monitors also.

When doing more than two display an active adapter has always been required. This is not new for 12.1 or 12.2.
