I haven't heard of that happening before. It should just open your default browser to the website and leave Widescreen Fixer running in the background. Does Widescreen Fixer crash or hang? If it does, could you copy/paste the crash details? Thanks.

The donation drive has been a huge success, and I will be receiving three monitors shortly. When they arrive, I will be revisiting all old CoD games and fixing pretty much everything I can with them. I'll post here as soon as I have something to release for it.

Thanks to Widescreen Gaming Forum and everyone in the community. :)

Awesome.

Just to be sure, the donations have to be made on the widescreen fixer page or here on the widescreen gamers forums?

Thanks.

Hi all,
I want to start off thanking dopefish for the widescreen fixer and all the hard work he has put into it!
The problem with MW3 is that it wont fix and the fix enabled answers no. The fixer works for COD Black ops but not MW3.
My version is Mw3 SP v. 1.2.358 and I just downloaded MW3 yesterday. I have set the image quality to native... and set the monitors to 3x16:10 and left the fov alone... Am I leaving something out here
Thankyou
Mondo

I've updated the L.A. Noire test fix.

https://www.widescreenfixer.org/wsf_test_lanoire.7z

It's now up to v3.0 and is fairly different overall. It's kind of a taste of things to come. I will be bringing more and more games up to use this system. Each game plugin will be able to have their own custom configuration giving far more control to the user.

Please test this version out and let me know of any issues with the application itself, not the L.A. Noire plugin.

It also requires .NET 4.0.2.

It doesn't really need an aspect-ratio setting. The old version just used the aspect-ratio combobox because I didn't have a slider available.

The default FOV is 1.25 and it doesn't scale well using the normal FOV calculator.
If we assume 1.25 is in radians, then it has a default FOV of 71.61 degrees. If we take that and use it as the base for 3 x 16:9, we'd get a required aspect-ratio of 129.91 degrees. Converting that back to radians will only get us 2.26. Yet you found that you needed to use upwards of 3.15 for the game to feel fine.

I think the FOV controls are better left in the users' hands rather than some pre-set values. :)

As for the crash, I can probably eliminate that by checking whether Read/Writes were successful and handling it otherwise.

Hey, I picked up the Steam version of LA Noire from the Steam sale to try out your fixer. I just tried out the latest version, but when I run it and then I run LA Noire and then I press multiply, I get this crash. I also find I have to run the Widescreenfixer as admin or it crashes immediately after I start LA Noire. I also installed .NET 4.0.2 as per your link.

EDIT: Nevermind I found that you have to select the Steam version from within the FOV setting. It's working now, it seems. Gonna give LA Noire a heavier playthrough and see if any problems come up. Thanks, dopefish.

Good find on the crash. I never thought of what would happen if someone just opened it up and tried to use it without configuring it. I'll fix that. Thanks.
