Hi everybody!

I tried Q3 on my notebook (16:10 widescreen 1200x800) using settings for custom resolution.
The result is a 4:3 image (or about 4:3) with a strip of faded desktop as a vertical bar on the right side.
But Quake see the resolution as 1200x800, as screenshoots demonstrate!

Does anybody know how to solve the problem?

Tks!

EDIT: another thing...
The video card is ATI M11 (9700 mobile) with default drivers.

Here is the thread on the Quake 3 solution:

http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/node/

Otherwise, I'm not sure. The proper 16:10 res would be 1280x800. Is 1280x800 the native res of your panel? With that video card I would suggest running the card at the native res.

yes, 1200x800 is the native resolution for my LCD.

About the solution, I already read the page, is the same solution I used (knowing consolle commands in q3, it's obvious), but my problem is different, nevertheless the wide resolution is accepted, the image don't fit the screen!

(excuse me for my english, I hope it's understandable!)

Only thing I would suggest is trying a different set of drivers. Maybe the Omegas? (Google for Omega Driver should find the site)

If you make the horizontal res slightly larger, does it narrow the gap? That might be a workaround if you can trial and error the right value...

Making a screenshoot with the print key, it results the resolution of 1280x800 O_o
But the monitor is a 1200x800!!!
So the column at the right side is the 80px difference beetween 1280 and 1200, and the part of screen that displays q3 is exactly 1200px wide.

Using 1280x800 custom resolution i can display Q3 correctly... but it seems to bring a bad contrast...
Besides the image is not in the native resolution, with all consequences of this fact...

Ok, it was a gamma problem... adjusting gamma, contrast returns ok!

Otherwise, fps increase from 320 to 400 O_o

The FPS increase is probably down to the fact that it's not having to draw the Windows desktop any more. So it's got more time to work on processing the game. ;)

Um... I obviously missed this earlier: a 16:10 panel would be 1280x800, not 1200x800. So that was what was causing the border. :)
