I found a way to fix aspect ratios with cheat engine while we wait for widescreenfixer.

I HAVE to have these locked
address s1_mp64_ship.exe+CA6ED98 type float value 1.777777791 menu/hud ratio
address s1_mp64_ship.exe+A6C397C type float value 1.777777791 unknown, i just kep it at 16:9
address s1_mp64_ship.exe+18000A8 type float value 2.333333254 in game ratio

here is a CE file, should work just make sure you set the ratios right.

Nice work!
Works pretty good for me, in-game ratio isn't stretched. Although, menus, hud, overlays and most important the reticle is a bit wonky, stretched and not centered in MP. Aiming is quite hard with the big stretched reticle.
Any idea on how to fix that? Hud would be nice to have centered since its used much but the reticle is the real party crascher.
I'm playing around with it and try to optimize my graphic-settings for triple wide now.

EDIT: used 5.333333333 in game ratio for 5760*1080

if you shrink the top ratio you can make the menu better but it will not be centered, like for mine its 1.2, 1.7777.. , 2.33... to make the hud 1:1. to do the math calculate the percent difference from your ratio to 1.77... then subtract that from 1.77....
but the point was to make it playable.

I need to run out for a bit but when I get back I'll put together and release a plugin with what I have so far. There's still more to be fixed but it should be good enough for now.

:triplewide:

Great work, truly appreciated

Alright, I've finally put out a plugin.

Download Widescreen Fixer here

Your mileage will vary. Multiplayer is at your own risk as usual.

Please report any and all problems. I did not even move past the first room in the game so there may be things that happen later in the game that do not work.

Here's a list of things that still need fixed that I know of.

Single Player
  • Some text is still stretch horizontally
  • Weapon overlay with ammo counter is shifted slightly to the left

Multi Player
  • Some text is still stretch horizontally

Thanks, and enjoy.

Awesome! :rockout:
Trying it out now!

EDIT:
Works really well in MP, even the HUD! Good Job, you really rock!
The objective markers in MP (Domination, Flags etc) are still big and stretched but it's not a problem.
The reticle works like a charm!

Hey tested it, but only works if i enable after being in-game. If I launch with the fix enabled the game crashes. Also If I encounter any loadscreen while in-game the game will crash as well.

I have a 21:9 2560x1080 monitor.

But when it works it looks great! If there was a way to disable the gun ui all together it'd look even better.

I never checked the markers. I'll take a look at that now.

Edit:
Image

The marker size has been fixed.

I can fix the marker arrows and the minimap only by changing asm itself in the code so far. I'll need to spend more time debugging it to track down what's really setting the value I need to edit.

Alright, r723 is up.

From commits:

MP: Fixed objective icons
SP: Fixed some stretched text
SP: Fixed marker scale
SP: Made menu position load later to help centering on initial start
MP: <DO NOT USE THIS OPTION> Added minimap fix and marker scale support

The minimap fix is done in an unsafe way. I use it for single player but I really have no idea if it's safe for multiplayer or not. Because of this I have made it an option in the plugin configuration. The plugin will not save this setting so it must be toggled each time. On top of that it won't just work either. You have to disable the fix first, tick the checkbox, and then enable the fix. Use of it is at your own risk!
