So, I recently purchased a Fury X and was hoping to set up my two u2415h and my u2715h monitors in eyefinity. Everything works ok except that the video on the outside monitors are slightly out of line...

I know that having a 1440p monitor in the middle makes the picture on the 1080p outside monitors line up incorrectly. Even when I switch to "fit" mode the 1440p center monitor shrinks to half of the size. . .

Does anybody have a 1080 - 1440 - 1080 eyefinity set up working perfectly? And if so what am I doing wrong ? . . . .

Btw, been an eyefinity gamer for years and you guys have helped me out allot!! This time, however, I just had to sign up and post my issue! lol

The real issue is that your 1440p 27" monitor has more pixels per square inch than you 1080p 24" monitors. So it won't line up correctly. You could try using a smaller resolution on your 27", but you will end up not being able to switch between 1440p and that smaller resolution easily. I've done this using a 27" 1200p - 30" 1600p - 27" 1200p and while gaming it looked... okay, but it wasn't sharp and desktop use was terrible. Now if you have a good scaler inside your 1080p monitors, you could try putting a bigger resolution on it so it matches the ppi of the 27".

OR you can try physically moving your monitors back. This would allow you to move you monitors back and forth easily to line it up during gameplay and and back for desktop work.

ObscuredVision, there are unfortunately no sides that will fit your 27" 16:9 2560x1440. Every conceivable screen combo has vastly too much PPI variance. Neither physically repositioning screens nor running non-stock resolutions will fix your current setup. It's perma-broken as-is. (~LIES, READ MY LAST POST)

Here are three recommendations to fix you up, pick one. But note that all answers are recommending PLP. Fury X supports both PLP & mixed LLL.

1. Best choice. Buy new center to line up properly with your sides. You want 32" 2560x1440 (16:9). Use in PLP form. Layout is heavy on resources, you may have unideal FPS.

2. Cheap choice, but sucky & substandard:
As suiken says, you could drop your center's resolution to 1920x1080. You then would need to buy other sides that line up (your current sides will never line up this way):
18.5" 1366x768 (683:384), using its standard resolution, in portrait
19" 1440x900 (16:10), sides using non-stock resolution & portrait 19" 1280x800 (16:10)
20" 1680x1050 (16:10), sides using non-stock resolution & portrait 20" 1440x900 (16:10)
20" 1600x1200 (4:3), sides using non-stock resolution & portrait 20" 1280x960 (4:3)
These have acceptable PPI variance for 27" 1920x1080, & look good in PLP when center is using its stock resolution. But these sides would look terrible in mixed LLL, because now size is greatly varied. Also as suiken says, center will not look ideal, as you have increased your pixel size. Lastly, there are likely fitment notes for these if interest, on PLP wiki (to compensate any slight PPI variance, resulting in perfect perceived pixel line-up)

3. Expensive choice. Start over. Buy a preferred PLP layout that lines up. There are 60+ of these layouts. If interest ask, or just find them on PLP wiki.

how do you connect laptop screens to a normal GPU?

Haldi you need a lcd controller board, got both mine from eBay for £60 delivered the screens I sourced from Laptop-LCD-Screen.co.uk.co.uk both came to £120 then another £80 In aluminium and parts for the custom frames and mounts.

Well I was afraid of this . . I had a feeling it would result in a monitor change, BUT considering that I spent 1500$ CND on these monitors a few month ago I'm kindda screwed lol.... cant justify spending that much more just because the outside monitors wont line up... Maybe in a couple years, or after I finish building my X99 pc haha.

Now I'm just a perfectionist when it comes to these things. The eyefinity set-up doesn't look half bad and just because the edges don't align perfectly it still serves its purpose. My peripheral vision is still extended and when I am gaming I don't really notice the misalignment in the thick of battle lol.. The ONLY PAIN I have is in the menu's and navigating the desktop ffs

Anyways, I appreciate the support guys. I will wait and see if I cannot recoup some money from my two 1080p monitors and just buy 2 more 1440p 27" monitors for the outer sides. By that time I will have my new pc built and probably have another Fury X for CF, so I will have some spare cash to waste lol .

ObscuredVision I am sorry, I missed a match & your cheapest fix option. Your current monitors will work together & suiken was right.

If you use non-stock 1920x1080 on your center & non-stock 1680x1050 on sides, it will line up well. Has negligible PPI variance, near zero. If used in PLP, sides will hang past center by ~7" which is pretty huge hang. But Eyefinity PLP allows H-shape, so 3.5" hang top & bottom which is more reasonable.

But again, you are dropping center's resolution. Not ideal but may well look better than your current lineup issue. You should try it & see. Also center may be improvable with an upscaling kind of Eyefinity feature. Can't remember details, but Fury X has the ability to make 1080p look more like your stock center resolution. In the end, you may be able to line up your pixels & improve center quality to near-stock. You will need to test to know. I am interested in your findings...

Here is a link to sides that would work quite well with your center. Same as neilChill's. But keep in mind that these sides are a pain to mount, & their color will never equal center. It remains a respectable, aesthetic PLP layout, & is in use. The layout entry provides 2 examples, enough info to get you going.
