I just wanted to say thank you. I stopped playing wi cher 2 because some other game cought my attention. Witcher 2 is one of the best games of the last years though. It should not be missed by any RPG fan and with this fix it is flawless in widescreen!

It is 4 bucks on steam atm btw! Seems very cheap for such a great game.

Is this fix still working? I have an LG 34UM95 and I cannot get the game out of letterbox. I have tried the profile from this thread and the one that came with the newest version of widescreen fixer.

Thanks

Going down the path of installing the game by DVD and patching online, I've had plenty of trouble getting this working eyefinity.

I have just run this again as a prewarmup for Wild Hunt

I know how frustrating it is to want to play an awesome game, but something PC isn't letting you :(

I'm running AMD and had heaps of issues with this at first but after a few restarts (even with a blank screen/blind exits) I got it.

Starting with low specs and working up might help too.

If anyone is having troubles with running this in AMD eyefinity or having issues from getting it working from DVD, my method and settings below might help you out.

From DVD I Installed Witcher 2 Assassins of Kings Premium Edition and manually patched to the latest versions with the official patches (this was hell). Then I installed latest version of Widescreen fixer (cheers for the plug in Helifax 8-) )

From DVD, the patches updated the game to a GOG essentially.

The rest was more hours of frustration and pain of trial and error, but it was worth it :)

Thanks peeps.

WideScreen Fixer and Flawless Widescreen no longer work with witcher2.exe v3.4.4.1 (GOG)

**Searching thepiratebay for an older DRM-free version that will work. Unfortunately, most of them seem to be repack of the latest GOG.com one

EDIT:
No luck. On 3.0.20054 (GOG) either

Image
Any ideas?

The game just plays on the center screen.

EDIT: x2

Found the DVD iso of the game. Updated it using Patch 1.35, so now my game version is 1.3.7010

Flawless Widescreen doesn't work at all.

"Could not find Resolution injection point, The Witcher 2 may have updated to a version that is no longer supported."

WideScreen Fixer just changed the Base Address to : 0x9C0000

EDIT: x3

Okay, I'm definitely doing something wrong.

Updated the from patch 1.35 to update 3.0

witcher2.exe : 3.0.20054.8512
WideScreen Fixer r736 (Windows 8 Compatibility Mode- Run as Admin) --> Selected Witcher 2 --> Gear --> Selected v3.0.20054.8512 (GOG) --> AMD --> Auto Detect
Witcher 2 Launcher --> Options --> Aspect Ratio 16:9

I'm willing to reformat my computer for this game. Really want to finish this before playing Witcher 3 (which hopefully won't be such a pain to setup)

OS: Windows 8.1 64bit

You need to manually put in your Horizontal Ratio in Widescreen Fixer to match the same horizontal resolution on the Witcher 2 Config Tool.

If you do that and the game loads with sound but no image, you know it is working. You have to blindly exit the game (keep pressing down and then enter to exit) and start the game again.

I owe you and dev both a beer.

Thanks so much!

Hi guys,
concerning 21:9, I managed to make it work on newest steam version by simply changing the aspect ratio. For me it worked while nothing was selected and with 16:10.

With 16:9 I had black bars, with some others only black screen was displayed; so if you have similar problem with different aspect ratios fiddling with this setting might help.

I just made a funny discovery:

I already had tried to get the Steam Version (Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition) 5760x1080 working with Eyefinity and was almost giving up, until I realized that I had to set it to 1x19 and 5760 as h-resolution.
Then I opened the game and it worked! But the FOV was strange. Then I hit * to deactivate Widescreen Fixer and suddenly I had the game on three monitors and with the right FOV! Completely without the fix being enabled! So it seems like the game can do it on its own, but doesn't "want" to (because it's an nvidia-game? I don't know).
When I hit * again to re-enable the fix, I got the wrong FOV again. So I hit * again and this time went to Windows through Alt+Tab to check if the fix was really disabled (while the game was running on three monitors with the right FOV).

Of course the fix was in fact disabled.
The funny thing is: After I went back into the game, the game was only shown on the middle screen! As if I was running it without a fix (which I was). But hitting * and re-enabling and disabling the fix didn't do anything anymore. So I had to close the game.

The lesson to learn was: After setting 1x19 and the correct h-resolution in Widescreen Fixer, open the game, disable the Fix with the hotkey and DON'T EVER ALT+TAB!

I've been playing both the GoG and Steam Version literally today. They both work perfect for surround just set all your settings and set aspectratio=5 in the user.ini. I hadn't had a problem with this game in years. Sometimes if you use the configuration tool built in it forgets to add settings and resets others. Just always change settings in the user.ini
