I noticed that there is a hack/patch for Tiger Woods 2005... do you guys know if the rest of their line up is wide screen capable? I only play the NHL series. Then again it's entirely possible that the entire upcoming 2006 line up will be 16:10 capable natively anyway...

And if anyone has any opinions on the HP2335.

Anand seems to have a favourable review of it... but more user input is always nice before I take the plunge :)

And finally, I found this site thru the link in Anand's latest monitor review... love the work you guys are doing here.

Until someone buys it, and tries to get widescreen working, it's up in the air. While it is possible that the 2006 series of games support widescreen natively, given that other EA games don't (Battlefield 2, earlier EA Sports games) it's unlikely. :(

I believe there is some discussion about the HP monitor in the Hardware/Software sub-forum. :)

Welcome to the forum. :)

Nice that they refer to the right place when its a matter of widescreen gaming... ;) Skip, is that IBRIN? hmmm... ;)

Skip has me outclassed here, so feel free to check out his website at http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/ for more details and patches!

This monitor can definitly be recommended for widescreen gaming! I have yet to find ghosting and I play both FPS and have tested it myself with aquamark3 just to look for ghosting. :)
Otherwise, I found that the colors were very precise, picture very sharp and it was as plug and play as it could get. This was on the F2304 which has the same panel. :)

Nice!

Thanks for the info guys.

:)

(EDIT): I think the MVP series for Xbox and possibly PS2 support widescreen... fingers crossed for NHL2006 PC-CD! I love the 16:10 aspect ratio, and I think making cross ice passes using the default camera angle will be much easier to accomplish with the wide view imo.

Yes, that would be me. My Superhero-secret-identity is out of the bag. 8)

Rugby 2004 did support it. You can check the screenshots section for a comparison. And, I don't think it was stretched. I think NHL was stretched, but I can't remember. I tried the 2004 version as part of the EA Sports pack.

Update:

I got the HP L2335... it's impressive to say the least. Movies look like crap, but I guess the high resolultion on the monitor reveals the weakness of the low res on DVD's (1900X1200 vs 720X480). Or it could just be that I am too picky.

1900X1200 gaming is just absolutely amazing. I loaded up DAOC - Catacombs, and it's absolutely gorgeous. Of course the loaner X600 card that I am using now doesn't do it justice, but it'll have to do until I get a 7800GTX in a few days.

Now ff only game publishers would program with 16:9 and 4:3 gamers in mind...
