Just wondering if anyone has found any other fixes or have experienced this issue themselves as i have tried hex editing and the game setting did display 2560X1080 yet still with "Black Bars" which annoyed me tbh since i'm guessing its because they changed their engine from Unreal to Unity as i tried the same fix for the Original Life is Strange which worked perfectly.

I hope Square Enix at least fixes this asap.

FIXED!!! SEE JACKS POST FOR V2!!! :rockout:

Try this one:

Try to switch resolution in menu from 3440x1440 to 1920x1080, then back to 3440x1440. Do you still have black bars?

Well it's kinda obvious that the same fix that was working for the original Life is Strange won't work on LiS:BtS with a completely different engine.
Tho, since it's Unity, I hope someone will find a fix pretty soon.

One question tho: Can you go "inside" the black bars with the mouse when you do the hex edit? Or what happens when you do so in Windowed Mode, will it stretch the full resolution or still be 1080p? Maybe the resolution just doesn't work right but is still displayed.

For Steam version try to copy only exe file to didn't lose online features. Sometimes it works, but no guarantees.

I've just tried using this but the resolution remains in 16:9 with black bars, although the resolution displayed in the menu is correct (3440x1440).

There's no option to change the res in the menu now no arrows appear.

Can you tell us the secret, I tried different hex methodes by myself including memory edit method from the latest Walking Dead game. None worked. I got it to display the correct reso in menu but the black bars remained.
