I don't know which planet I've been on but I find the graphics amazing.
I'm getting 90% of the time 60fps at 1280x1024 resolution. (for my rig see my sig).
The only problem is I'm planning to buy a dell 2407wfp and am afraid to see my fps fall dramaticaly.

On a better note, I 'm happy to hear we can get widescreen enabled, Hor+ AND no HUD stretch! The only thing i'm concerned about - will PB detect it as cheating when it's enabled for the game? I would test it but the game does not support SharderModel 2.0 cards like mine (you just get a black screen at start-up) so I have to wait until the 25th for my 8800GTX :)

When I run a game, the lowest widescreen res I'll run is 1440x900 which looks pretty good on my 24" Acer AL2423W. If I go to 1280x800 or below in any game, it gets strangley pixelated, not in the way you would normally expect. You know what it looks like when you zoom in an image without anti-aliasing (e.g. Photoshop) and everything looks abnormally jagged and deformed? That's what happens on my monitor below 1280x800. Oh well.

Yes I have that time. It would be so great if you could test it, im impressed that you would do something like that. :o

Hey buddy ...
I hooked up a 2405 to my system with the 7900's ...
It runs ok ... there are some slowdowns especially at the start of the training mission ... but on the whole it is playable ...
Here is what I did ...

With my 2 x 7900's at 1920x1200 ... shadows at low (which isn't really that different to High) ... no V-Sync ... and everything else at max.

I did however use nHancer ... http://www.nhancer.com/
In nHancer I duplicated the profile for Unreal Engine 3 ... called it R6-Vegas ...

Set up some Enhancements ...

Anisotropic Filtering ... 4x

Setup some Optimisations ...

System Performance ... Performance ...
Trilinear Optimization ... On
Ansio. Filter Opt .......... On
Ansio sample Opt ........ On

Doing this gave me at least 10-15fps more ... :D

Worth a try ... :D

That's good to know Paddy. I'll test out some optimizations when i get the 8800 in. Have you guys been able to force anti-aliasing in the game yet? I wouldn't imagine it to be that hard. I'm thinking that with my 8800 I'm getting I probably won't run it in 1920x1200 although I'd like to. I'll probably do 1440x900 with 4xAA. I don't think I could bear to run it in 1440 without any anti-aliasing!

@ Cornflake ...

Yeah ... I did get it going with AA ... but it disables the shadows which I don't like.
I also found changing the resolution from 1920x1200 to 1680x1050 didn't make much difference to the FPS. The best way to improve FPS was lowering the shadow quality which doesn't look so bad.

By the way ... did you not get that PM I sent you re your System Specs ?

Thanks Paddy, I bought the game yesterday and finished it this night.

GREAT Gameplay, GREAT Graphics, GREAT Sound and sometimes GREAT LAGS. :P

Overall it was good playable with your settings but I used Nvidias Control Panel for it, I tried nHancer before and I never seen a huge difference. The last level was a lagmachine with amazing 16-17fps damn, it was hard to kill those guys. Thanks again for your work.

Lower Resolution = Bad Textures

You know that right?
