I have read all of the previous posts of the Battlefield 2 shortcut and i couldn't get a custom resolution to work other than the 1024x768 resolution in the game. I tried the shortcut hack to the executable and the game acts like its going to load and then it automatically closes and goes back to the desktop. I was wondering if it has something to do with the fact that the resolution im running on my sony 32" lcd is 1768x992. heres the kicker part if i up the resolution to 1920x1080 then run the game at 1024x768 default it plays full screen with minimal cropping around the edges. i would like to try to play a high resolution any ideas?

I'm having similar issues with 1280x720 (27" Westinghouse LCD). The LCD only runs 800x600 and 1280x720 native, but since the game only runs/supports 800x600 of those 2 resolutions I can ONLY run 800x600... and in order to even get that to load and play I have to do the shortcut trick and video con edit.

If they don't release the game with widescreen support/resolutions soon I'm just going to move on to any of the numerous other games that do. If DICE doesn't already know they're alienating hardcore gamer's with this crappy support, I aint even bothering to send them an email.

So the bottom line - whatever max supported resolution your monitor will run that the game will also support (1280x1024) is the max you're going to get the game to run. Anything higher than 1280x1024 is just being interpolated by the monitor. No one is getting widescreen from this game.

EA and Dice should be grateful I don't write reviews for any sites anymore. No widescreen support in a 2005 released game is a glaring failure of knowing your fan base IMHO. lol
