I am about to pull the trigger on an 8800gts, and I need some pointers and opinions on which one to get. I would like to spend as little as possible seeings I am going to upgrade it in 6months, thus I want the lowest depreciation possible.

Options:

8800gts 320mg RAM 500/1600 AU$400
8800gst OC 320mg RAM 570/1800 AU$435

Will the OC model be worth the extra $35 or should I go for the normal 8800gts 320 and overclock myself?

Also, resale value, will the OC version be more enticing to buy 6 months down the track?

8800gts 640mb RAM 500/1600 AU$550 I think is not worth the extra $150 seeings I am going to sell it on 6months.

Thoughts?

Stalker here we come!

This review here shows that the OC model is around 10% faster than the non OC model. For $35 a 10% increase is not bad, but the question again is, will the non OC card be just as easily OCed by ones self?

So will the results be the same as the factory overclock?

It should be at least comparable.

what screen you running?

from what I've been told the main difference between the 320 and 640 version is the 320 struggles at high resolutions, and AA and AF

I would read these first:

http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=2953

Some of the factory OC card maybe worth it as it comes with a slightly better heatsink/fan than the stock cards.

I run a 1680x1050 Screen, so I should be ok with the 320 because I look at the 1600x1200 benchies and it is quite capable at those rez.
