ive had these monitors the Acer x223w for a bit now and i bought a TH2G. So i was happy to get it in the mail until i hooked it up and tried to set it at 5040x1050. my monitors require the 60hz at that resolution, im running a 9800gtx but im thinking of upgrading to a newer card because fps is getting low. Ive gone through the forums and tried the solutions to get this working with no luck.

9800gtx 182.47
vista 32
3 x 22" acer x223
th2g firmware 2.3.40

when i do the nvpanel custom rez with the properties from the other thread it makes the picture too big and my menu bar is a little off the screen and the custom rez panel comes back saying custom rez failed.

another question being me upgrading my card to a 260 55nm card and possible sli. would i have a better chance at getting this to work or is that a problem with my monitors? maybe its just the 9800gtx, not sure. I tried that beta gxm that mach1.9 posted but it seems from what im reading that the 200 series will work with that beta gxm, is that right or would i still be hosed.

i don't want to play games in 4098x768, you all know how it looks.. :(

any help would be greatly appreciated. ill continue to check back frequently.

Hold on. Are you aware that you simply cannot get 5040x1050 @ 60 Hz to work with TripleHead ? You need monitors that can do 1680x1050 @ 57 Hz, period. If your Acers don't work at that refresh rate, you need to replace them with any known working models before you even think about playing games in 5040.
Meanwhile, you can try 3840x800 (3x 1280x800), it should look ok (same aspect ratio as 3x 1680x1050) ;)

i understand that but people have apparently been able to trick it into thinking that its 60hz when its actually 57hz just to satisfy the monitors and make them work and not have input not supported messages on each screen. not many monitors run at 57hz at that resolution to my understanding at 22" but i could be wrong. like i said, it does show the resolution with that custom rez but just doesn't fit in the screen. maybe some sort of scaling can fix it and ive fooled around with the nv scaling controls with no luck either. i just don't feel like spending another $750 on damn monitors. its just retarded that it doesn't do 60hz

maybe i can run 2 on the triplehead2go and 1 on the other dvi slot on my 9800gtx and do a 5040x1050 that way, i have tested it like that and it works but in games is another story. software for that? like a dual link 3360x1050 60hz and 1680x1050 60hz, so 3 monitors but you cant span it unless you want to double what you have... if there is a way to span the 2 that would be great but i have no idea. if the gxm took that into account and just added it to make it one screen that would be sweet as well.

To the best of my knowledge the only way to treat 3 displays as one for gaming is either with TH2Go or SoftTH. Sounds like you've been able to rig up desktop settings the way you like it, unless I've misread your post.

Also FYI, 5040x1050 is limited to 57Hz because of the limitations of the DVI display connection, not the TH2Go. TH resolutions are basically topped out until DisplayPort connections become standard...and they sure are taking their sweet time coming to market.
