I am trying to run SoftTH with DDO on Vista 64 and I am running into problems.

I have tried tweeking everything in the config file with the same results.

If I don't hard set the resolution in the configuration file, I can start the game up and choose 5860x1200 and it shows the resolution for about a second before the game freezes.

If I do hard set the resolution in the configuration file then the game crashes on loading.

I have a TH2Go but it has horrable resolution on my system (ATI). I would prefure to use SoftTH for the full 5760x1200 resolution.

Here is the error I see in the log file:

Code:

      2.918 SoftTH: Monitor left: -1920x0
      2.918 SoftTH: Monitor right: 1920x0

A wild guess from me is that it is Dungeons & Dragons Online

My suggestion would be to set 'altResetBehaviour' to 1, as that's what the readme suggests for your problem.

Assuming that you've already done that, try changing your graphics drivers. Use the ones for XP and run them in SP2 Compatibility Mode, which should allow you to avoid this problem.

I did try the 'altResetBehaviour' to one and that didn't help, I am not sure about the XP drivers on Vista 64. That seems like it would cause more problems then it would solve?

I am not using 32CUDA and I don't see anywhere else has CUDA settings.

BTW these are the graphics settings for the game:

I am really stuck on this one and the TH2Go resolution just doesn't cut it.

I want this to work so bad I am willing to paypal $20 to whomever can get it working for DDO under Vista 64.

There is a free trial of DDO so if you want to try it out you can.

I am so close, I can get it running in triplehead for 5 seconds before it crashes, so I am pretty sure it can work, I just can't find the right settings.

So far I have gone through the read me and changed everything in the config file at least once to test and tried many combination of changes.

I have a ton of log files and the last few look like it's the SoftTH that is crashing as the logs stop abruptly at the end.

I got Fallout 3 working at 5760x1200 with very little problem. After turning down the AA and a few other settings I was able to get a great picture at 30+FPS. I know my system can handle it now, I just need to figure out how to get DDO working with it.

here is the settings that work with Fallout 3:
Code:

   [config]
   deviceIDLeft=auto
   deviceIDright=auto
   secondaryWidth=1920
   secondaryHeight=1200
   secondaryRefresh=auto
   secondaryFormat=RGB16D
   uploadMethod=blit
   forceAffinity=0
   borderSize=0
   sideExtraWidth=auto
   noHotkeys=0
   noOSD=0

   [Direct3D]
   lensCorrection=0
   lensCorrectionEdge=0
   hideNondefaultDevices=0
   forceHorizontalFOV=0
   forceResolutionWidth=1920
   forceResolutionHeight=1200
   force16bitDepth=0
   sleepBeforeRead=2
   useMultihead=0
   delayedPresent=0
   autoSquash=0
   altResetBehaviour=0
   d3d8dll=auto

   [hooks]
   use X resolution
   doHooking=1
   doScaleMouseCoordinates=0
   doScaleFromLeftScreen=0
   doScaleWindowRects=1
   doScaleClientRects=0
   mouseXoffset=auto

When I start the game with 5760x1200 resolution setting in the softTH config file, it crashes. If I start it with 1920x1200 and then change the resolution in game, it changes show a great picture then crashes after 3 seconds.
