Nope I couldn't get it to work at 5040 either, sorry. I think the best you will get is 3840

Did you try MobsterOO7's files ?
http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/node/6681
The "grey screen" issue happened to me in Vista, not in XP. What's your OS mate ?

I think the best I could achieve thanks to Mobster's files was to run the game in 5040 with the same FOV as 3840... No good. (Then I kinda lost interest in the issue...)
I don't really understand why we need anything more than modding the modded dlls by the way :?

IIRC, the only way to get the game to look like it should was to run the game at 3840x1024 but with the files for 5040x1050.

Oh wait, here it is: http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/node/6681#comment-140597

That is a overlay of the proper aspect ratio for triplewide run at 3840x1024. Not a perfect solution but its probably the best solution that you will ever get.

Dont know what has changed after one year (drivers maybe ?) but Doom 3 is running fine at 5040x1050 and 5760x1200, with proper AR, using the hack posted in this thread - http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=6156&start=0&hilit=doom .

I'm glad to see that it's working correctly now. I have idea why though. I stopped playing Doom 3 around the same time the hack was working correctly, I haven't even gone to hell yet.

stupid question.. you edit the CFG files to get custom resolution right?

I got
4320x900
5760x1200
6028x1200

all working fine. I just don't see why 5040x1050 won't work.

you might want to try the retail verison of the game thats the one I have. I think there's a steam version of the game so that might be the problem
