You shouldn't need to do anything. The game pulls the list of available resolutions from you system info, so it has native widescreen support. You should see 1920x1080 in the game's option menu. I can personally confirm this since I messed around with the game on my 1080p screen a while back. (Sadly, I ultimately found the game too dated to enjoy anymore, and only replayed the first 2 levels before uninstalling.)

Note however, that it's vert- (same viewable width as when running 4:3, with the top and bottom cut off), and there's no known method to adjust the FOV.

Yeah, it was never the prettiest game when it was new... the wireframes reminding me a lot of the blocky characters of Fade to Black... but it's aged a lot more poorly than similar games of that time-frame (Quake 2 springs to mind...)

I played it all the way through recently - I got the game less than five years ago, and never got very far into it until this year. The graphics are PS1-ugly, but if you can get over them and stick with it, the gameplay is awesome - some of the later levels are mindblowing in their design. And it's Star Wars before George Lucas ****ed it up.

Agree 100%... you really have to play it with a lot of imagination, but it is still a great game.

Apart from the graphics, I found the movement to be a bit off-putting.

I set the affinity to one core, but the movement speed still seemed to be too fast. Though perhaps that's just how the game is and I've become accustomed to slower movement speed in new games. The movement was also a bit more floaty and inaccurate than I was used to. I find a lot of older shooters tend to be like that, you feel like you're piloting a hovercraft instead of controlling a person (Shadows of the Empire is the worst game in this respect, you slide around like your on ice the whole game).

I quit pretty much out of dread of the jumping parts later in the game. I died like 8 times on some stupid ledge jumping section in the first couple levels before you even have to do the Jedi power jumps. I don't think I have the patience for that stuff anymore.

Fast, floaty movement is something most old FPS games have, in my opinion. I have been replaying the original Half-Life lately and the movement is just insane compared to today's games.

Yeah, older PC FPS games tended to move fast. It's only with the 'console-tard' generation of FPS games that movement speeds have dropped like a rock... presumably to even the playing field for those using thumb-waggle-stick controllers. ;)

Dark Forces II does 'bob' quite fast - try Force Speed, though, and it'll make you want to puke. ;)
