Thank you!
And as for the reading, I did search for information, but I failed to find a readme file. And I didn't have the time/patience to go through the whole thread.
Thanks again for your work!

Is it possible somehow to switch the original patched aoe2_x1.exe exe?
Cause voobly calls this exe not the bat script.

Hi there, first of all, thank you very much for doing this boekabart! I can confirm that this works, just tried it on my system (Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit) running at 1680x1050 resolution. The game version is 1.0c. Hope this helps anyone at all.

Hopefully this isn't asking for too much but is there any way to get rid of that bright pink colour on the right side?

Again, thanks for your hard work :D

Oh, here is a screeny of it working: http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll285/madcowstudios/AOK000.jpg

where i get age2_x1_1600_900 exe. ?

Hi,

The patch works like a charm, with a few things I had to fix when the patch wouldn't touch my conquerers executable, where I had to get another crack because the one I have, 2.1, isn't recognized, but works great with older versions (1.0, 1.0c all of those).

Also, Age of empires II doesn't allow Itunes to play the next song. I open it while a song is playing, and it goes on until it finished, but won't go onto the next song. It's like it puts the rest of the computer on hold until it quits. Same effect with MSN, I know I don't need that while you play, but theres a side effect that might help you fix it. I quit AOE, and the next song plays right away. While that happens, a bunch of people sign in at once to fill the length of the screen.

ANOTHER, is that it won't alt-tab, but you probably know that. It would be useful when I'm checking on things in the middle of my game.

It would be great if you could fix this because AOE is boring as hell without music.

Thanks for reading, please fix the bugs,

Devan

If you send me your exe, I can add a patch for it probably.

This all is collateral damage, not from the patch itself, but from the Vista/7 palette fix: it completely suspends all explorer.exe instances, and apparently iTunes needs explorer to do something in order to move to the next song (weird). This also causes popups not to appear (all explorer functionality) and alt-tab not to work.
The only thing you can do, as far as I know, is to remove the 'process suspend' lines from the batch file AoE2Wide creates, and live with the palette errors that Explorer causes....

Hi!

Firstly, thank you very much for putting in the work to make this available to everyone.

I am delighted to be able to play this game on my tv screen. The game strangely does not allow my computer to play in max res under 'options' (very frustrating) but this solution works terrifically, I am enjoying playing in wide screen.

This is a question for anyone, is there any way to make voobly compatible with the batch file? Or any ways of playing online using the batch file?

Thanks very much!

Hi boekabart,

brilliant patch, I've been using it for the past six months offline. However I've just tried to get online, and it turns out your patch seems to be making my original 1.0e (from voobly) into a 1.0c (but still called "age2_x1_1.0e_1680x1050"). This is a bit weird, I'm sure you'll agree. aoe2wide.exe reports no issues, but the generated exe has no 1.0e splash screen and reports as "CD 1.0c" in multiplayer; running the original age2_x1.exe direcly works fine. Any idea what's going on?

I've uploaded both my original exe and the autopatched one to https://files.one.ubuntu.com/_SoQJN-9RGyJltEJv9pCNw
