WSGF Edition Multi-Monitor Stand
It's been a while since our last newsletter. There's been a lot going on at the WSGF, and I've been waiting for the right time to let everyone know about all the new changes and updates. I'm going to start sending out smaller newsletters on a more frequent basis. They will be focused on one topic, so that we can better share all the resources available at the WSGF. As always, if you don't want to get the newsletter use the unsubscribe link at the bottom.
WSGF Edition Monitor Stand Launches & Sells Out
After more than six months of development with Ergotech, we launched the WSGF Edition multi-monitor stand during Christmas week. Even better, within the first 90 days we had completely sold out our first production run. If you're not familiar with the WSGF Edition stand, it is designed for serious Eyefinity and Surround gamers who plan on future expansions of their display configuration. While many gamers upgrade CPU and GPU on a regular basis, most of us see monitors as a long-term investment. I feel the same way about a monitor stand.
The WSGF Edition is designed to be an investment and carry you through monitor upgrades and configuration changes. Start with three 24" monitors, and then later move up to 27's (when the prices come down). You won't need to buy a new stand. Or, start with 3x1-Landscape with 24's, and then add the fourth "accessory" display in the top position (my current setup), and you can always add a fifth for 5x1-Portrait at a later date.
Features
- Supports 3, 4 and 5 monitor configurations
- Traditional 3x1-Landscape, 1+3, or 5x1-Portrait
- Allows for proper curvature in 5x1-Portrait
- Supports most 27" monitors in 3x1 and 1+3
- Supports most 24" monitors in 5x1-Portrait
- Smaller footprint due to the compact nature of the five-segment bar
You can get all the details on the stand's product page, and you can ask questions in the official discussion thread. We are still taking orders while Ergotech produces more components for the five-segment bar. Ordering yours today will get you an early place in line.
Based on the stand's unique support for three, four and five monitor Eyefinity configurations, AMD has awarded the WSGF Edition stand with the first "Designed for AMD Eyefinity Technology" certification.
See it live at PAX East
ASUS purchased two stands for their booth at PAX East. They are using them to show off two NVIDIA 3D Surround rigs with 27" monitors.
HD Triple XL Stand
Based on feedback from forum members, I have worked with Ergotech to produce another custom SKU. If all you want is to run 3x1-Landscape with 27" panels, we have developed the HD Triple XL. This SKU starts with the standard HD Triple from Ergotech and swaps the standard monitor bar for the WSGF designed five-segment bar. This SKU keeps the short pole and three pivots.
This SKU is designed for people who know they won't ever use a 1+3 configuration (you need the tall pole and mini bar for that), or won't ever run 5x1-Portrait (you need five pivots for that). The HD Triple XL prevents the tall pole from sticking up above your monitors, and shaves $50 off the purchase price. I've always said that I don't want people to overbuy anything, so hopefully this will fit a niche within our community.
We have added the HD Triple XL to our online store, to compliment the HD Triple and HD Triple w/ Wings we already have online. I've also added the HD Hex Stand for Eyefinity6 fans out there. Like the full WSGF Edition, the XL will be on backorder until Ergotech gets more components manufactured. I am expecting stock to be back in within a couple of weeks, so ordering now reserves you an early place in line.
